Allrite Roofing Project Featured in National Roofing Magazine

News, Remodeling

A classic home + an expertly installed roof = award-worthy combination! We are honored to be featured in Roofing Magazine for our recent roofing work on Frank Lloyd Wright's Thomas P. Hardy House.

The DaVinci Single-Width Shake in natural aged cedar restored the original look of this historic home. We are so proud of how this project turned out!

Roofing, the industry’s national publication dedicated to showcasing proper roofing design, installation and maintenance, featured our work on a historic Frank Lloyd Wright home in their May/June 2020 issue. We’re excited and honored that they chose our project to highlight. We used DaVinci Roofscapes composite single-width shakes in aged cedar to refresh a Milwaukee-area historic home’s roof.

The Project

As a Frank Lloyd Wright classic home, the job came with some challenges – such as maintaining the original look and feel that Wright intended, the steep bluff and high winds as well as some unknown fire damage. The homeowner wanted to honor the classic look of the home but use a low-maintenance roofing type. DaVinci Roofscape’s beautiful single-width composite shake was the perfect product to meet their needs.

The Product

The DaVinci product we used has the right quality, texture, color and warranty that the owners wanted. The Single-Width Shake in the natural Aged Cedar coloring brought back the original appearance to the home exterior. As an added bonus, the composite shake shingle has a longer lifespan and will require far less maintenance. Single-width shakes deliver the varied textures and natural visual shifts in color and shading that occur with real, hand-split cedar.
