Don’t Miss Out on Federal Tax Credits for Energy-Saving Upgrades

Remodeling

If you’ve been thinking about making your home more comfortable and energy-efficient, now is the time to start planning. Wisconsin homeowners currently have access to multiple programs that help offset the cost of upgrades, but some of the most valuable federal tax credits will be ending soon.

IRA Home Energy Rebate Programs ARE Available

At Allrite Home & Remodeling, we’ve long shared the news: 2025 offers some of the best incentives we’ve seen for making your home more energy-efficient. However, with program details and funding always subject to change, it’s more important than ever to take advantage of these incentives while they’re still here.

IRA Home Energy Rebate Programs

Wisconsin continues to offer IRA Home Energy Rebate programs (HOMES), designed to make energy-efficient home improvements more affordable. These rebates remain active and available for qualifying projects, but as with all government programs, future availability and funding levels are subject to change.

Federal Tax Credits Ending in 2025

What is changing are the federal tax credits for home energy improvements. The credits under Section 25C (Energy-Efficient Home Improvements) and Section 25D (Residential Clean Energy) are only available through December 31, 2025.

Until then, you may be eligible to claim up to 30% of the cost of qualifying improvements after rebates and discounts. Projects that can qualify include:

To receive these tax credits, projects must be installed and paid for by the end of 2025.

These tax credits are nonrefundable, meaning they only apply if you owe federal income tax. We always recommend double-checking with your tax preparer to confirm what applies to your household.

Maximize Your Savings

The great news: in many cases, the HOMES rebates, federal tax credits, and Focus on Energy incentives can often be combined, helping you significantly reduce project costs. That makes upgrades like insulation and new windows, more affordable than ever.

Act now!

The end of 2025 is coming up fast! Many of these big projects, like replacing windows or upgrading your home’s insulation, can take time to plan, schedule and complete. Starting now means you won’t be racing against the clock to qualify for federal credits before they disappear.

At Allrite Home & Remodeling, we believe in helping families make the most of their homes. If energy efficiency upgrades are on your wish list, now is the perfect time to get started, while you can still take advantage of every available incentive.
